About Me

I'm a fashion-aholic, a self-proclaimed foodie, and a lover of music and art.  This is my fabulous little domain in which I will share newest trends that I love (or even may hate for that matter), places to eat, new artists or designers, and anything else my little heart desires.  I have worked in the fashion industry and have used my insider knowledge to contribute to other sites including FocusOnStyle.com.  This is my place to bring you emerging designers, fashion tips and tricks, as whatever else comes on the radar.  Enjoy!

    Jennifer Stone IS Young Hollywood

Young Hollywood seems to be getting younger and younger every year with new crops of budding starlets paving their way not only with their talent but also their impeccable sense of style.  Here is Jennifer Stone of Wizards of Waverly Place at the Young Hollywood party wearing some of the cutest shoes I’ve seen in a long time.  These Davis by Ruthie Davis heels are very Marc Jacobs-esque with the embellished heel but are identifiably Ruthie in the color-blocking.  Ruthie Davis is known for having stand-out heels with bold colors and a sexy kick-butt attitude.  I also love that Jennifer paired hers with a chic LBD and a wrist full of fun cuffs.  She’s young, she’s hot, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of her to come!

Vamp Up Your Home for Less

I recently made a trip to my local Marshalls and was shocked to find some seriously amazing deals!  There were Kenneth Cole bags for a fraction of the price, Betsey Johnson tights in lace and bold fall colors that didn't break the bank, and deals left and right that had me filling my cart to the brim.  Lately, though I have been focusing my shopping habit on things centered around the home, specifically the kitchen.  In these days with people eating out less and staying in more, there is a larger desire to make one's home more inviting and personable.  So while I was perusing Marshalls' home department I was delighted to find great bargains that not only look chic but are at half or less than what I would have originally paid in department stores.  I was able to get a set of four placemats that go with my decidedly monochromatic dishes, a gorgeous French press, stemless wine glasses, cranberry walnut granola, Kona coffee, mixed peppercorns, and tuberose & peppercorn hand cream all for under $55!  A definite steal in my eyes.  So if you're looking to add a few key pieces to your house but don't have the means to stock up at Williams Sonoma, head over to your nearest Marshalls and have your pad looking like a million bucks!

Incubus' Brandon Boyd Collaborates with TOMS Shoes

When I see companies taking a stand for something there is a part of me that gets inspired to join the cause, movement, or fight.  If I buy a great pair of cute and comfortable shoes, that directly results in someone somewhere receiving a pair of shoes that they otherwise could not have.  My love of fashion and shopping pairs with my desire to help the world in some tiny way.  In this effort, Incubus lead singer Brandon Boyd has partnered with TOMS artist Kristin Jai Klosterman to create beautiful canvas art that represents their feelings towards world issues and the state of humanity as it is now.  The canvas will then be cut into pieces and randomly pieced together to form a pair of TOMS shoes.  From the looks of the fabric laid out, they are shaping up to look very interesting and definitely worth checking out.  The shoes will be available for sale at Undefeated in Silverlake September 26, 2009  3827 W. Sunset Blvd. LA 90026  If you can't make it to Undefeated you can always opt for a great pair of TOMS collection.  Right now I am in love with these laceless slip-ons.  The Cordones have that ultimate preppy Ivy League air with all the casual vibe of TOMS.  I'm definitely getting a pair immediately.  Check them out!

Rock the Vote: Demand Health Care

I'm going to jump on my little soap box for a minute to urge you all to Rock the Vote and help in reforming health care across the country.  An alarming majority of young adults in America are without health insurance and that has mostly to do with the fact that insurance costs have skyrocketed and more companies are declining anyone with a pre-existing condition.  For a country that is supposed to be one of the strongest and most industrious in the world, we are far far behind in this respect.  All you need to do to join in having our voice heard is sign a petition, send a letter, or make a donation.  A small price to pay for the overall benefit of the country's sick and disadvantaged.  There you have it, do with it what you will.
