About Me

I'm a fashion-aholic, a self-proclaimed foodie, and a lover of music and art.  This is my fabulous little domain in which I will share newest trends that I love (or even may hate for that matter), places to eat, new artists or designers, and anything else my little heart desires.  I have worked in the fashion industry and have used my insider knowledge to contribute to other sites including FocusOnStyle.com.  This is my place to bring you emerging designers, fashion tips and tricks, as whatever else comes on the radar.  Enjoy!

    Presenting: Battle of the Brands

One of my favorite personal shopping sites, Shop It To Me, is hosting its first ever Battle of the Brands.  Think of your typical sports bracket but replace teams with L.A.M.B., DVF, Alexander Wang... you get the picture.  At the end of 5 weeks one will be victorious!  While this is a pretend game, the benefits are definitely not.  By posting your votes on their blog you are entered to win fabulous Marc Jacobs prizes!  Those include a wristlet, umbrella, and key chains.  You can enter each week so that gives you five chances to score a piece of MJ love.  Just go to their blog and start voting!  You must be a ShopItToMe member to vote, so be sure to sign up if you haven't already.  Happy voting lovelies

    Get Your Bing On

I was watching The Rachel Zoe Project and a commercial for Bing came on again so since I was conveniently at my Mac I decided to check it out.  At first, it is your run-of-the-mill search engine with a simple feel much like Google.  Then I checked their image search and all of the similarities ended.  I love love love the layout of the images as well as the amount that is shown at once.  This way you can look up Marc Jacobs and end up with a full page of streamlined images to choose from.  It is much simpler and way less busy and enough of  a reason to drop the big 'G' as my main search engine.  There is also a great function, which is the Reference search.  Type in Marc again and you're given bio information as well as articles related to him.  So easy and all of the articles given are substantial pieces rather than fluff.  My next test was the maps because I am a lover of Google maps and use them constantly.  Bing not only gave great listings but it also offered Aerial and Bird's Eye views. The best part of all was that you can save a collection of places and retrieve them whenever you need them.  Say you map out your favorite boutiques in West Hollywood.  Simply find them and add a push  pin then save it in your W. Holywood collection.  Easy, fab, love.  I highly recommend you test it out and let me know, will you be remaining loyal to Google or switch on over to bing?

    Twitch Vintage Brings Gorgeous Frocks

I am a lover of vintage clothing and jewelry, mostly because when buying a vintage piece you feel like you are owning something with a story.  Not to mention the uniqueness that comes along with having an item that you know will not be in every boutique around town.  With a good dry clean and occasionally a few alterations, you can turn a dated dress or blazer into a current article with a historical air.  I've recently discovered Twitch Vintage which is based in Florida but sets up shop on eBay.  Their findings are truly covetable and retro without looking costumey.  She just added 50 new items to the shop so check it out for some fab finds!  Here is a sampling of what is offered:

    Current Obsession: Lace-Up Boots

As winter is slowly approaching, I've been thinking of what I'll be stocking my wardrobe with.  Footwear of course comes to mind almost immediately and I am so excited to finally be able to sport my latest fetish:  lace up boots.  They're a little combat and a lot sexy and definitely exude the confident tough-girl vibe we all crave now and then.  You can find the above styles at Urban Outfitters, Free People, Saks, Aldo, and Steve Madden.  My inspiration:

Where Have I Seen You Before: Stella

Stella McCartney has undoubtedly become one of my top 5 designers over the last few years.  Her clothes are body concious and beautiful with an edge and the color pallettes are always flattering.  Lately, though, I have been totally enamored with her shoes.  One in particular is this fun mesh peep-toe sandal.  They dont take themselves too seriously and I can see them paired with anything from minidresses to skinnys to shorts.  The only downside?  The price, of course.  So to solve that dilemma I've found a great brazee lattice heel by Free People that is significantly friendlier to your wallet and still has that same effect Stella's has without being a blatant knockoff.  So have fun with your footwear inspired by the greats, just so long as its not a direct copy.  Love!
